Introduction
With the rise of a cashless society and alternative payment options such as digital currencies, there are many who predict the fall of paper currency. Digital currency and cashless payment options will have profound impacts on financial systems as well as the practices of central banks. Will paper currency finally be obselete and how and why do goverements need to regulate. This expansive growth is primarily attributable to the fact that over the past four years cryptocurrencies have become ubiquitous, prompting more national and regional authorities to grapple with regulation and take action.
How will this impact businesses?
In collaboration with NTU & Fintech Academy, this 1-day course will provide business leaders and participants a clear overview of the cashless and digital currency landscape, the need for regulations (the how) and what are the opportunities and threats that digital currencies will have for businesses.

Dr Lillian Koh
Having served 17 years in Ministry of Education, Singapore and another 17 years in Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Dr Koh is now spearheading the new Fintech Academy in Singapore, working closely with the institutions and agencies driving fintech in Singapore and beyond.
She champions financial and fintech literacy movements in Singapore and is involved in spearheading such awareness and talent development programmes given her experience in leading 12 postgraduate course modules, including supervision work at Practicum.
She was also Principal Investigator for research and innovation grants.

Japhet Lim
Japhet Lim is the Head of Blockchain Development at Jigsaw capital, an organisation that focuses on providing blockchain oriented solutions to enterprises and companies.
This focus stretches to full technological implementation of blockchain and customised enterprise resource planning-based solutions.
He is a principal training consultant at Fintech Academy.

Joe Tusin
Joe Tusin has over thirty years of tech industry experience comprising management consulting, enterprise software, cloud computing and mobility, and financial technology (FinTech) across the United States and Asia Pacific.
Joe was the youngest Director of Research at University of California (UC) Berkeley and has deep experience in big data analytics in financial services, credit risk, and closed-loop analytical and operational customer relationship management (CRM).
Joe is passionate in financial inclusion for the unbanked through the digitization, democratization and socialization of payments with smart compliance, and in making the world a safer place from financial crimes through blockchain, AI/machine learning, and biometrics.
